"just because it is, doesn't mean it should be"

(i'm still working on a good way to portray my travels without giving you 500 pictures of boredom!) One of the movies I saw recently, on the trip home, was Australia. I loved it. I heard it got a lot of flack and didn't do too well. I don't why because even though it was two and a half hours, I was never bored. The cinematography was captivating by itself, and although I'm not a huge Baz Luhrman fan (he killed Romeo & Juliet), I thought he did a spectacular job. He didn't go too over the top like he did in R&J or even Moulin Rouge.
Nicole was gorgeous and regal, portraying the slightly prissy Lady Sara Ashley perfectly. (Her transformation is subtle, yet very well done.)And Hugh Jackman was just gorgeous. The "manly man" done perfectly.

The scene stealer, though, was Nullah, played by Brandon Walters. He narrates the story and is perfectly adorable as the "half-breed" boy.
How can you not want to go see this movie, after these breathtaking shots? I don't care what critics say, this is an epic. And too long? People! Titanic was just as long! And why does no one complain about the LOTR trilogy? Those films, while good, had many, many boring parts. Australia, had none. And yes, there was humor and fun fight scenes besides the love story.
So, conclusion, go see this film. The scenery alone is a reason why.

PS Verdict on the new layout? I've been feeling this look more than the girly look lately. The picture is my friend Chelsea & I in Athens, courtesy of my friend Ryan, who likes taking candid shots.

i have yet to check out the movie myself--but i've always had a huge love for australia (the country itself), as they manage their wildlife so well, and some family members of mine are there too.

i'm not a huge fan of NK.. but thanks for the recommendation!

hope to see you around my blog as well..

much love
