"this is our destiny"

If you haven't heard of Slumdog Millionaire by now, you are either
a) trapped underground
b) stuck under a rock
c) a recluse
d) stuck in hannah montana landThis movie has garnered a bunch of attention for its Oscar wins, beautiful leading lady, Freida Pinto, and, recently, the custody battle over one of the younger stars. Oh, and of course, because, you know, it was a pretty damn good movie.
As in, it was a modern fairytale in the slums of India about a man whose unique experiences lead him to the final question on India's "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" There's romance, there's strife, there's evil, there's good, there's the questionable character, there's squeamish scenes and funny scenes, aww scenes and argh!! scenes. In short--Slumdog's got it all.

There's no gorgeous costumes or stunning scenery. It is gritty and truthful and extremely well done because of this. All the stars really shined. I know Freida gets the most attention (and who can blame them?! She's stunning!) but everyone really did well in this movie.
PS. This is my AP English right now, but I definitely noticed the motif of yellow and "destiny" mixed together in Latika's clothes--the dress, shirt, scarf. All brought her to Jamal.

And of course if none of these pictures convince you, this has to.

I loved that movie so much, it haunts me. I never noticed the yellow/destiny relationship, but it makes sense!
